ARC Requests
What is an ARC Request?
The Architectural Review Committee (ARC) helps keep Foxcroft looking beautiful and consistent by reviewing changes homeowners want to make to the outside of their property. An ARC request is simply the form you submit when you’d like to add or change something — like a new fence, deck, shed, paint color, or landscaping project.
Submitting a request ensures that projects meet community guidelines and protects the look and value of all our homes. Once submitted, the ARC will review your request and let you know if it’s approved or if adjustments are needed.
What home improvements do I need to submit an ARC request for?
You must submit an ARC request for any of the following:
- Tree Removal
- Trees greater than 6" in diameter, dead or alive, must have prior approval for removal.
- House Addition
- e.g. Sunroom, screened porch, deck replacement, etc.
- Accessory Building
- e.g. shed, workshop, detached garage, pool house, gazebo, etc.
- Property Improvement
- e.g. swimming pool, spa, outdoor living spaces, etc.
- Hardscaping/Fences
- e.g. fences, retaining walls, patios, walkways, etc.
- Landscaping/Lighting
- e.g. changes in mulch beds, bushes, tree additions, tree removal, lights
- Exterior Modifications
- e.g. changes in materials, ornamentation, size and color
- Roof Replacement
- Play Sets and Other
- e.g. play set, basketball hoop, other
If a repair (e.g. damaged roof, broken window, missing siding, driveway issues, damaged doors, etc) is completed that maintains the existing look of the property, then ARC approval in not required. The repair must maintain the same dimensions, color, style and material or such repair must be submitted for review and approval. An emergency and temporary repair may be completed to prevent damage to the property until such time a permanent repair can be made. Any prolonged temporary repairs may result in warnings, fees or fines. ARC approval is limited to design criteria established by the Foxcroft Community Association as documented in the Foxcroft Standards, and should not be interpreted as an approval for code compliance or zoning compliance by Chesterfield County.
